Recently, under the direction of Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the National Gendarmerie, and Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province, Heng Bunthy, Gendarmerie Commander of Preah Sihanouk province, directly commanded a special operation team to carry out a law enforcement action.
A five-member team from the Gendarmerie Security Intelligence Investigation Division, coordinated by a deputy prosecutor of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court, took action in front of an apartment in Village 5, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville city, detaining a Chinese national and seizing a vehicle suspected of carrying a fake base station (Fake BTS) device.
The authorities confirmed that the suspect is a 33-year-old man named Deng Chenghu. Items recovered at the scene included one power adapter, two antennas, two personal mobile phones, one mobile phone used to control the device, one passport, and a gray Prius sedan.
The suspect and the related evidence have been handed over to the relevant department of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Gendarmerie Command and will be dealt with further in accordance with the law.
