Preah Sihanouk Province: During the three-day Pchum Ben festival (October 10-12, 2026), the security and public order situation throughout Preah Sihanouk province showed a remarkably positive improvement, with no criminal offenses occurring at all, even though the province hosted approximately 150,000 domestic and international tourists.
This positive outcome resulted from direct orders from the leadership and the dedication of 610 police personnel from the Preah Sihanouk provincial police, who coordinated with relevant authorities to provide tight security at all 40 pagodas, resorts, beaches, and various recreational areas.
The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Commissariat affirmed its position that the forces will continue to strengthen protective and crime-suppression measures of all kinds to ensure safety and provide peace of mind to the public and tourists at all times. By: Pai Sokhim
