Labour Minister Heng Sour and Preah Sihanouk Deputy Governor Samut Sothearith stressed professional communication and accurate translation at an October 1 workplace relations meeting.

Preah Sihanouk Province: At a meeting on "Promoting Conduct and Workplace Relations" held on the morning of October 1, 2026, Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province Samut Sothearith said that a good working environment is an essential foundation for maintaining harmony, solidarity, increased productivity, and improved well-being of workers.

He noted that economic growth and investment in Preah Sihanouk Province are creating more job opportunities. Therefore, companies, factories, and enterprises must pay attention to human resource management, mutual respect, listening to feedback, and professional communication in order to prevent minor issues from escalating into labor disputes.

At the same time, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Heng Sour emphasized that the conduct and choice of words by management, especially senior leaders of factories, enterprises, and companies, are important for maintaining good relations with staff and workers. Adhering to ethics and professional standards will help reduce misunderstandings and the occurrence of disputes in the workplace.

The Minister also highlighted the important role of interpreters, noting that incorrect or unclear interpretation can cause confusion between management and workers. Interpreters must therefore be professional, accurate, and highly responsible in carrying out their work.

The Minister thanked the provincial administration and relevant authorities for participating in the timely coordination and resolution of labor disputes, and encouraged investors to continue developing in Preah Sihanouk Province, an important economic area of Cambodia.

The Minister also called on all company owners, factory owners, and enterprises to uphold ethical standards, respect the rights and dignity of workers, and jointly build a harmonious, safe, and highly productive workplace. Article by: Pai Sokhim
