Chea Horn, governor of Svay Teab district, led a joint working group to tidy up public order and ease the flow of traffic along National Road No. 1 within Svay Teab district, aiming to enhance the city’s appearance and ensure safety for the public on October 5, 2026.
On that occasion, the district governor emphasized that maintaining public order is an essential task that must be carried out to ensure good orderliness and to make travel by citizens safer and more efficient.
The operation focused primarily on the Prasot market area in Kandieng Reay commune, where some vendors had set up stalls, extended awnings and built solid structures encroaching on state public road land, as well as on the drainage system cover. These activities have caused severe traffic congestion and posed a high risk of traffic accidents.
The district governor added that although the authorities do not wish to affect the daily livelihoods of citizens, for the sake of the common good and public safety, this campaign of tidying up and reorganization is an indispensable measure.
At the same time, the working group provided guidance, education and made improvements to restore order, ensuring that the road surface and public sidewalks are fully usable without obstruction. This measure will contribute significantly to reducing congestion and preventing traffic accidents along National Road No. 1.
