Cambodia’s four coastal provinces: roles and planning scope
Understand the regional links between Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, Kampot and Kep through the coastal plan and port-study map.
Four provinces within a shared planning scope
KPS99TV’s coastal-plan source identifies Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, Kampot and Kep as the provinces covered by a 15-year plan. Its objectives include a multi-purpose special economic zone and a comprehensive economic corridor. This describes a regional planning scope; it does not change the provinces’ administrative relationships.
Five connected development themes
The source covers industry and tourism, transport, municipal infrastructure, social infrastructure and ecology. Production depends on transport and energy, tourism on public spaces and services, and urban life on environmental management and living facilities. Together these explain the scope of coastal-development planning.
Complementary provincial directions
The source connects Preah Sihanouk’s gateway and processing links, Koh Kong’s border and ecological assets, Kampot’s agricultural, industrial and cultural assets, and Kep’s coastal, wellness and specialty products. These are planning directions, not investment-return predictions or a ranking of provinces.
Limits of the map and the 2040 objectives
Figure 1 of the November 2025 MPWT/JICA report retains provincial labels and port-study zones. Its colours identify study zones, not investment parcels or approvals. The plan’s vision toward 2040 is also not a current statistic or a completion commitment for each project. This page uses KPS99TV editions read on 28 October 2026.
