Former Miss Thailand Panadda Wongphudee could face three types of charges—public fraud, money laundering and computer-related offences—over alleged financial irregularities at her charitable foundation. She has accused her husband of misappropriating the foundation's funds.
Bangkok Post reported that Panadda could face all three charges. Her husband, real-estate investor Atip "Got" Anantawan, could also face money-laundering charges. Authorities are gathering evidence about donations made by Thai people to the Good Deeds Foundation, totalling about 1 billion baht, or nearly US$30 million, to determine whether the money was used for purposes other than those intended or whether financial rules were breached.
Panadda, who won Miss Thailand in 2000, chairs the foundation but was suspended from that role in October amid the controversy. The foundation began its activities in 2019 and was formally registered in 2024. Its work focuses on disaster relief, legal assistance, shelter for vulnerable groups, and medical and educational aid.
