The United States welcomed Thailand's release of 18 Cambodian soldiers, describing it as a positive step towards rebuilding good-neighbourly relations and trust. It added that it stood ready to support the Cambodian and Thai governments as both countries continued implementing the important measures agreed in their joint statement of October 26, 2025.
