As 2026 began, China expressed readiness to work with Cambodia to further their ironclad friendship and build an all-weather China–Cambodia community with a shared future. Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin posted New Year greetings to the Cambodian people on his official Facebook page. He stressed: “No difficulty can stop Cambodia's progress towards a bright future of peace, stability and prosperity. We are happy to work with the Cambodian side to further the ironclad friendship between China and Cambodia and actively build an all-weather China–Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.”
The report observes that this reflects progress in bilateral relations, with continued efforts to strengthen and expand cooperation across all sectors by turning plans into concrete action.
