Koh Pen sandy beach, a natural attraction also known as the “freshwater sea beach”, is one of Kampong Cham province’s well-known destinations and is now welcoming domestic and international tourists as normal.
The 1,000-metre Koh Pen bamboo pontoon bridge has also entered service to make travel easier for visitors.
After the water receded, Kampong Cham Governor Un Chanda and colleagues inspected the newly completed bamboo bridge on January 1, 2026. The bridge had recently been put into use. The governor then continued on a leisure visit to Koh Pen beach, one of the province’s well-known, picturesque natural attractions.
Bun Dara, the manager of Koh Pen beach, said the bamboo pontoon bridge crosses the Mekong River, linking the bank in front of Wat Dei Doh in Kampong Cham city to the Koh Pen natural beach attraction. It is 1,000 metres long and two metres wide and can be crossed on foot.
