Summary

A Labour Ministry notice calls for full and timely wage payments, compliance with 2026 minimum wages in the relevant industries, and payment of seniority indemnity and benefits.

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training recently issued a notice requiring enterprises, companies and factories to pay employees their full wages in accordance with the law. It prohibited delayed or insufficient payment and irregularities in calculating wages, seniority indemnity and related benefits, warning that violations would be severely penalised under the law.

According to the notice, the 2026 Minimum Wage Implementation Guidelines require garment, footwear, travel-goods and bag manufacturing industries, among others, to implement the 2026 minimum wage from January 1, 2026, and strictly follow twice-monthly wage payments so workers and employees receive their due income on time.

The ministry also stressed that enterprises must pay seniority indemnity twice a year and provide other legally required benefits. Labour inspectors would investigate disputes arising from non-payment or incorrect calculations and impose strict penalties on enterprises found in violation, it said.

Workers who encounter problems with wages, seniority indemnity or benefits can call the labour inspection hotline, 1286, or report them through the anonymous complaints platform, the ministry said. Relevant departments would handle complaints under the law. It also urged workers to pursue their rights rationally and avoid extreme actions such as blocking roads, which could disrupt public order and violate the law.
