At the end of 2025, Cambodia had more than 3,000 operating large factories, an increase of 658, or 27 percent, from 2024. Total investment was US$25.168 billion, up US$4.711 billion, or 23 percent.

Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Hem Vanndy said Cambodian industry had been growing rapidly at a February 2 workshop on implementing technical-drawing guidelines and a Prakas on pollution-control systems and risk management in factories, enterprises and handicraft establishments to strengthen industrial safety. By the end of 2025, there were 3,083 operating large factories, 658 or 27 percent more than in 2024.

Total investment reached US$25.168 billion, an increase of US$4.711 billion or 23 percent. Domestic investment was US$3.906 billion, reported as 15 percent of total investment.

Alongside this growth, Hem Vanndy instructed and encouraged all factory and enterprise owners to strictly implement the ministry's technical-design, pollution-control and risk-management guidelines to improve efficiency and productivity, reduce accidents that could cost lives, property and business reputation, and avoid possible penalties from competent authorities.

He said the guidelines were intended to pave the way for Cambodia's industrial future by guiding factories, enterprises and handicraft establishments in technical planning, safety protection and risk management, including fire prevention, pollution reduction and industrial-waste management, in accordance with national standards and international best practices.
