Summary

A February 2 notice from Stung Meanchey II sangkat gives vendors along Monireth Road and outside the school seven days from the notice to remove encroachments on public road land.

To eliminate trading that encroaches on public road land, maintain the city's appearance and public order, and prevent possible traffic accidents, Stung Meanchey II sangkat authorities gave vendors along Monireth Road and in front of Stung Meanchey Primary School seven days to remove their structures, stalls, billboards and equipment themselves.

The sangkat administration's February 2 notice asked vendors in those locations to stop encroaching on public road land, particularly prohibiting site or stall owners from allowing displays and sales that obstruct public roads. Vendors were asked to remove structures, stalls, billboards, equipment and other goods from public road land themselves within seven days from the notice.

The administration added that if vendors did not comply, it would take action to remove everything and would not accept responsibility for damage to or loss of equipment at those locations.

Previously, Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng had instructed local authorities in all 14 khans and 105 sangkats to pay attention to security, order, hygiene and a good environment.
