On the morning of February 8, 2026, Tourism Minister Huot Hak met at the ministry with a delegation from the Saudi Arabia–Cambodia Business Council of the Saudi Arabian chamber of commerce, led by council chairman WALEED NASSER ALSHEHRI.
The meeting followed the minister's invitation during the 26th General Assembly of UN Tourism in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in November 2025. The delegation's main purpose was to explore Cambodia's investment opportunities, tourism potential, trade and business environment.
Huot Hak warmly welcomed and thanked the delegation, outlining Cambodia's peace, political stability, safety and good public order, as well as the government's preferential policies and incentives for foreign investors. He also highlighted the country's rich cultural and natural tourism potential, describing it as a safe, attractive and diverse destination.
In response, WALEED NASSER ALSHEHRI thanked the minister for the welcome and opportunity to meet and outlined the council's investment directions and plans to expand trade and promote tourism in Cambodia.
The meeting was regarded as an important step towards arranging future Saudi business delegations to Cambodia involving entrepreneurs from various sectors. The two sides also discussed promoting tourism investment, encouraging direct flights between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia and publicising each other's tourism potential to attract more Saudi visitors to Cambodia.
