Molecor, a Spanish company specialising in water pipes and fittings for markets in more than 30 countries, expressed interest in establishing a Cambodian factory and bringing advanced pipe-product solutions to clean-water operators.
During February 6 talks with Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Hem Vanndy, the company’s Southeast Asia chief executive Walter Philip Pattynama outlined its interest in a factory and advanced pipe solutions to supply water operators, improve infrastructure and reduce leaks.
Hem Vanndy said clean water was not only a public-health priority but also a catalyst for rural economic transformation and industrial development. He highlighted the need for long-term investment in high-quality water infrastructure and asked the company to bring financial solutions so operators, especially those in rural areas, could improve and expand supply.
He said: “Cambodia welcomes companies bringing innovation and long-term solutions, including technology, quality products and sustainable practices for the development of Cambodia’s clean-water sector. We also ask the company to consider financing solutions to support operators in modernising their infrastructure.”
Pattynama described Molecor’s growing Southeast Asian presence and Cambodia’s potential as a market, especially as the country moved towards higher-quality water infrastructure.
“Molecor manufactures high-technology pipes, and our mission is to bring affordable, safe clean water to people,” he said.
He also presented Molecor’s proprietary PVC-O pipe-manufacturing technology and its focus on long-term cost efficiency through durability, easy installation and improved hydraulic performance.
