On February 18, 2026, Rural Development Minister Chhay Rithisen, permanent vice-chair of the national social land-concession committee, led senior delegates and specialists to review infrastructure progress in social land-concession areas and important roads in Preah Sihanouk province.
He inspected the veterans’ social land-concession area in Village 1, Tumnob Rolok commune, Stung Hav district. Since 2023, the ministry had completed five gravel-mix roads, eight metres wide and 7.70 km in combined length, and 17 structures comprising bridges, box culverts and circular culverts.
The ministry was conducting technical studies for an additional concrete bridge 45 metres long and eight metres wide, together with other necessary structures.
Beyond the concession area, the minister and delegation inspected two other important connecting roads:
The first, a double bituminous surface treatment (DBST) road, was 16 km long and six metres wide, built during 2016–2018. It linked Samdech Tep Vong Street at Ou Tracheak Chit village, Samrong commune, Prey Nob, with Rithy 2 village, Keo Phos commune, Stung Hav.
The second DBST road, 10.40 km long and seven metres wide, was built in 2007. It ran from Keo Phos roundabout in Rithy 1 village, Keo Phos commune, to National Road 4 at Ta Ney village and commune, Prey Nob.
The report portrayed the visits as government attention, through the Rural Development Ministry, to improving veterans’ livelihoods and faster, easier economic connections between rural and urban areas. By Pai Sokhim.
