The working group promoting investment in Preah Sihanouk recently held its 23rd meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Finance to review incentive applications for 35 investment and business projects with a combined investment value exceeding US$156 million. The meeting, chaired by ministry Secretary of State and working-group head Hean Sahib, focused on project implementation and policy support.
The applications cover a livestock-supporting industrial park, furniture manufacturing, waste processing, water-pipe production, electric-vehicle charging stations, cooking-oil and cardboard-box production, as well as multifunctional commercial buildings, hotels and shopping centres. Once completed, the projects are expected to create thousands of local jobs and support coordination along industrial supply chains.
The working group said its next priorities would be attracting high-quality, high-value-added investment while supporting stable operation and expansion of existing projects, local employment, skills development and technology transfer, and encouraging greater use of domestic raw materials. For some stalled projects, the government urged owners to participate in the resolution mechanism. Incentives including tax relief and administrative facilitation remained available to strengthen the investment appeal of Preah Sihanouk and Cambodia more broadly.
