Kampot province received more than 80,000 holiday visitors over the three days of the traditional Chinese–Vietnamese New Year, an increase of over 12 percent from the previous year. The source attributes the turnout to good transport connections, diverse places to visit, particularly attractive new tourism developments in Kampot city, and well-organised safety, security and public order.
Soy Sinol, director of the Kampot Provincial Tourism Department, said domestic and international tourists and residents visited resorts, community tourism sites, destinations and Kampot city on February 17, 18 and 19, 2026. The reported total was 88,077, about 12.89 percent higher than the corresponding period in 2025, comprising 84,892 domestic tourists and 3,185 foreign tourists.
Soy Sinol added that conditions at the province's 42 resorts, communities and tourism destinations were generally good, services operated smoothly and no noteworthy incidents occurred. He said department teams routinely inspect resorts, community destinations, food services, accommodation and tourist boats during festivals, publicising guidance focused on hospitality, food hygiene, safety and service prices to maintain Kampot's good reputation.
