A Siem Reap provincial tourism department report released on February 20 recorded 109,436 visits during the three-day Chinese New Year period from February 17 to 19. Domestic visits accounted for about 96,340, the large majority, with 13,096 foreign visits. The report described the tourism market as picking up while overall visitor flows grew steadily.
The department reminded visitors and residents that holiday sites were crowded, urging personal safety precautions, vigilance in attractions and public places, and use of official tourism information channels to maintain orderly tourism and national security.
