Cambodian Defence Ministry spokesperson Lieutenant General Maly Socheata issued the following information to the public and national and international media:
At 10 a.m. on February 26, 2026, Cambodia’s CLG facilitated an ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) visit to observe, verify and report on actual conditions in the Preah Vihear Temple area, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, following the ceasefire that took effect on December 27, 2025.
The spokesperson said Cambodia had consistently respected and implemented the ceasefire, the October 26, 2025 Joint Declaration on the Cambodia–Thailand peace agreement, the joint statement of the third special Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) meeting of December 27, 2025, and other relevant existing agreements, seeking a just, proper, lasting solution consistent with international law. Cambodia expected Thailand to comply with those agreements in good faith and sincerity in the same way.
