According to a Cambodian Defence Ministry spokesperson’s statement, the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), coordinated by Cambodia’s CLG, inspected civilian sites and infrastructure in the An Ses area of Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, on the afternoon of February 26. These included homes Cambodia said were severely damaged by Thai military attacks in December 2025.
The spokesperson said Cambodia had consistently fully supported AOT and stressed the importance of strengthening its role and mandate to verify and ensure full, effective implementation of the ceasefire, promoting transparency, accountability and mutual trust.
The spokesperson reiterated that, since the ceasefire took effect, Cambodia’s government and Defence Ministry had firmly committed to respecting and implementing it fully and responsibly, aiming for a prompt return to normality, peace, stability and lasting security along the border.
