On February 26, Cambodian law-enforcement officers raided a site in the neighbourhood rendered as Bing Fa Cheng in Phnom Penh’s Chbar Ampov district, reporting the dismantling of an alleged telecom-fraud operation disguised as romantic dating. They detained 81 foreign suspects: 72 Chinese nationals, including three women, and nine Myanmar nationals, including one woman. The report said the action followed National Police instructions and was coordinated by a Phnom Penh Municipal Court prosecutor and relevant committees.

Officers reportedly seized desktop computers, monitors, laptops, phones and wigs allegedly used to disguise identities. All suspects and evidence were transferred to police, and the premises were sealed. Investigators were continuing to examine the organisers and wider network.
Officials said nationwide operations against online fraud had continued for more than eight months, dismantling sites and rescuing victims in several locations. Prime Minister Hun Manet had repeatedly said Cambodia would never provide a hiding place for transnational fraud and those involved would face the strictest legal sanctions.
