The Commerce Ministry repeated its warning on March 9 that fuel stations and depots nationwide must not sell above regulated prices. The warning followed findings that some sites had overcharged, leading to penalties and signed commitments to stop immediately.
Under the instruction, operators must display prices based on ministry notices, sell accordingly, and ensure accurate fuel quality and quantity and transparency for customers. If stocks run out or sales are temporarily suspended, they must notify the relevant departments and authorities at least one day beforehand and report again when supplies resume.
The ministry said specialist officers from the Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General and capital and provincial authorities would continue regular inspections to prevent overpricing and ensure compliance in fuel sales.
The report listed the March 8–10, 2026 prices as 4,400 riel per litre for regular petrol, an increase of 550 riel, and 5,150 riel for diesel, an increase of 1,300 riel.
