According to the immigration account, under Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Sokha’s direction, the General Department of Immigration deported 1,420 foreigners, including 169 women, from the night of March 11 through March 15. The group covered 23 countries and territories, including Uganda, Kenya, India, China, Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, the United States, South Korea, Laos and Taiwan.
Within the total, 335 Chinese nationals, including four women, were reportedly deported by charter flight through Techo International Airport over alleged online scam activity. Other people’s cases involved unlawful border crossing, staying without passports, forged visas including QR-code visas, alleged scams and unlawful work.
