A delegation from Vietnam’s An Giang province expressed hope for closer friendship and cooperation in trade, industry and tourism between the two countries, particularly An Giang and Preah Sihanouk provinces.
The delegation, led by Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee, expressed the wish while conveying Khmer New Year greetings to Preah Sihanouk provincial leaders on the afternoon of April 1.
Preah Sihanouk Deputy Governor Em Pheap welcomed the delegation. He said the two provinces had long maintained close and strong sister-province relations. Exchanging festive greetings not only improved mutual understanding and support but also fostered closer ties, he said, pledging to strengthen friendship, solidarity and cooperation.
The deputy governor also told the delegation that Preah Sihanouk, one of Cambodia’s four coastal provinces, had substantial potential in industry, tourism, trade and logistics, with a deep-water seaport, an international airport, an expressway, a railway and numerous special economic zones.
The An Giang vice chairman wished good fortune and happiness to Preah Sihanouk’s leaders, civil servants, armed forces and residents for the approaching Khmer New Year. Noting that Vietnam and Cambodia are neighbours, he hoped friendship, cooperation and trade, industry and tourism exchanges would grow closer, particularly between An Giang and Preah Sihanouk.
