Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth met ASEAN–China Centre Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun on April 28, 2026. They discussed stronger investment and tourism cooperation and ways to develop the province into a regional economic and tourism centre.
Mang Sineth said the province was developing infrastructure around major projects including deep-water port expansion, the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway and the international airport, with a focus on logistics, trade and tourism. He also outlined government tax incentives and investment-promotion measures to attract businesses, and described closer Cambodia–China cooperation as creating development potential.
Shi Zhongjun said the centre would continue its bridging role by promoting visits to Preah Sihanouk by more Chinese tourists, strengthening cooperation in the digital economy and skills training, and encouraging Chinese companies to explore investment opportunities locally. He said stable Cambodia–China relations would support development of the province as a regional trade and tourism hub.
