Cambodia exported 129,332 tonnes of rice to China from January to April 2026, up 83% year on year and generating US$75.88 million in revenue, AKP reported on May 13, citing the Cambodia Rice Federation.
The same report said Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin had written in a May 12 social media post that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement were helping to promote Cambodia’s agricultural trade.

Cambodia Rice Federation Secretary-General Lun Yeng said China remained an important market, taking around 28% of Cambodia’s rice exports in the first four months of the year, according to AKP. He also referred to continued cooperation between the Cambodian government and Chinese partners to expand rice exports.
According to the report, Cambodia and China signed a new agreement in 2025 to raise the quota for Cambodian milled rice exports to China from 400,000 to 500,000 tonnes, an increase of 25%.
