A villa in Rotanak sangkat, Battambang city, reportedly owned by an unnamed general and suspected of housing an online-scam operation, was raided by the provincial administration’s unified command forces on June 1, 2026. Officers detained 27 foreign nationals.
The operation followed direct instructions from Sok Lou, head of the Battambang provincial unified command committee, and careful surveillance of the suspected premises. The provincial administration’s report did not identify the villa’s owner, stating only that it belonged to a general.
The report said the 27 foreigners detained included nine women: 23 Filipinos, including eight women; two Myanmar nationals, including one woman; one Nigerian; and one Sierra Leonean. It also identified seven Cambodians as involved in online scams. The administration said the group had moved in on May 11, 2026 after leaving other sites following enforcement operations. National Police technology specialists examined the electronic equipment and, according to the report, confirmed its connection with online scams. The items were sent to provincial police for further procedures. The villa was sealed and placed under the responsibility of the Battambang city administration’s unified command committee.
After two raids on operations that had only recently begun in Battambang city, authorities said there might be other sites. The provincial unified command committee pledged to continue investigating dispersed small-scale operations and pursue ringleaders hiding in the province.
