Summary

The transport ministry and National Metrology Centre inspected the អ្នកលឿង–តាគោក mobile weighbridge on July 7, 2026 after traders’ complaints. The report said one company’s scale differed from the ministry’s by over two tonnes, and urged depot operators to seek scale verification.

គឹម សាន់, under-secretary of state at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, together with the National Metrology Centre of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, led a team on July 7, 2026 to inspect operations at the អ្នកលឿង (តាគោក) mobile weighbridge substation on National Road 1 in Prey Veng province. The inspection aimed to verify technical standards and strengthen transparency in checks on overloaded vehicles.

The inspection followed complaints from some stone and sand hauliers that the ministry’s weighbridge was irregular and had caused them to incur fines.

មុយ សំរេច, head of the office responsible for inspecting and verifying metrological equipment, said the តាគោក mobile weighbridge had been inspected, verified and sealed to technical standards to prevent alterations or falsification that could make weighing results inaccurate.

The on-site inspection reportedly found that the scale belonging to the company ស៊ីអេនើជី differed from the ministry’s weighbridge by more than two tonnes and showed a similar discrepancy against scales at several other depots.

The ministry and National Metrology Centre urged all stone and sand depot owners to apply for verification of their scales, to ensure accurate weight data in line with national standards and address misunderstandings or criticism concerning the ministry’s weighbridge operations.
