The State Secretariat of Civil Aviation has emphasized that the development of Cambodia’s civil aviation sector aims to strengthen the sector and enhance its competitiveness internationally. H.E. Mao Havannall made the remarks on August 4, 2026, while welcoming a delegation from the Senate’s Ninth Commission, led by its chairman, H.E. Oum Sarith.
H.E. Mao Havannall highlighted a number of achievements, including strengthening air connectivity, expanding flight networks, and promoting tourism, trade and investment.
At the same time, Cambodia has continued to strengthen its capacity to fulfill its regulatory role by implementing ICAO standards and maintaining a high level of compliance in aviation safety and security. The development of new airport infrastructure and the modernization of air traffic management systems (CNS/ATM) are also key to improving efficiency and safety.
According to H.E. Mao Havannall, Cambodia’s civil aviation sector has expanded international cooperation through air transport services agreements and promoted the development of the national airline by supporting the expansion of its fleet of next-generation aircraft. In addition, Cambodia has focused on developing green aviation to reduce carbon emissions in line with international principles.
Looking ahead, Cambodia will continue to strengthen air connectivity with promising markets and develop the country into a regional aviation hub. By improving safety, security, service quality and competitiveness, Cambodia expects to continue attracting investment and further advancing national economic growth.
