PHNOM PENH — Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, paid his respects to the late Academician Chan Sarun, a lawmaker for Takeo in the seventh legislature of the National Assembly and a former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The visit took place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Chan Sarun died of old age at 12:29 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, aged 81. He represented Takeo province in the seventh legislature of the National Assembly and had previously served as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Hun Sen paid tribute to the deceased, offered condolences to his family and prayed for his peaceful repose. The visit expressed respect for Chan Sarun while his family was making funeral arrangements.
