This MOU is aimed at supporting United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, which seeks to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. The agreement seeks cooperation between the National Police Commissariat of Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior and the Go&Do Social Welfare Organization to reduce social and economic impacts on poor and vulnerable citizens and to strengthen awareness and exchange on disaster response and safety among the Cambodian people. The agreement also focuses on implementing various projects, including: “Providing fire trucks free of charge to developing countries” and “Firefighting technology training.”
This objective aligns with SDG 11, which was established to reduce deaths, injuries, and direct economic damage caused by disasters, with a focus on protecting poor and vulnerable citizens. The implementation will also include numerous activities to strengthen the capacity and awareness of the Cambodian people.
