On October 1, a delegation led by Prak Thaveak Amida, Undersecretary of State at Cambodia's Ministry of Information, represented Information Minister Neth Pheaktra at the inaugural CICA Media Forum held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The forum, organized by Azerbaijan's Media Development Agency under the theme "Building Trust through Media in a Polarised World," brought together government officials, media leaders and communication experts from CICA member states to discuss Asian media cooperation and information security.

During the forum, participants exchanged views on enhancing public trust in the media, strengthening journalistic ethics and responsibility, and deepening cooperation among media institutions. They also focused on the challenges posed by fake news and disinformation, and how countries can strengthen their response.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the opportunities and risks AI brings to news gathering and editing, media management and information dissemination also became a key focus. Participants shared their experiences and discussed how to leverage new technologies to improve media efficiency while safeguarding the authenticity of information.

The forum also held two roundtable sessions to discuss cooperation outcomes during Azerbaijan's CICA chairmanship and the role of media in promoting social cohesion and cross-cultural communication. Prak Thaveak Amida participated as a guest in the second roundtable.
The Cambodian delegation's participation reflects Cambodia's proactive stance on strengthening international media exchanges, safeguarding information security, and positioning media as a bridge to foster communication and understanding among nations.
