His Excellency Chea Chanboribo, Ambassador of Cambodia to Bulgaria, attended the opening of the new season of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, at the invitation of the Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), to watch the opening concert of the BNR Symphony Orchestra on the evening of October 2, 2026, at Bulgaria Hall in Sofia.
This special program was conducted by Konstantin Ilievski and featured the BNR Mixed Choir under the direction of Lyubomira Aleksandrova, as well as soloists Katalin Kramarics (Flute), Stefani Krasteva-Pavlova (Soprano), and Maria Radoeva (Mezzo-soprano).
His Excellency noted that this was a particular honor for Cambodia, as among the foreign diplomatic representatives, only the Cambodian Ambassador was invited to attend this occasion. It was a meaningful opportunity to share art, music, and friendship, and to contribute to strengthening cultural ties between Cambodia and Bulgaria.
The Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio is one of Bulgaria's leading symphony orchestras and is part of the Bulgarian National Radio. The orchestra was founded in 1948 in Sofia and has made a significant contribution to promoting classical music and the works of Bulgarian composers.
Over the decades, the orchestra has performed works by renowned national and international composers, and has taken part in numerous recordings and music programs of the Bulgarian National Radio. The orchestra's activities have also helped connect Bulgaria with other countries through music.
Today, the BNR Symphony Orchestra continues to organize concerts and artistic programs, bringing classical and modern works to listeners. The orchestra also plays a role in preserving and promoting Bulgaria's musical heritage, while raising awareness of Bulgarian culture and art on the international stage.
