A joint force from the Poipet City Administration continued to carry out administrative inspections at 3 locations in Poipet commune and Psar Kandal commune on 5 October 2026, finding a total of 22 foreigners, all of whom held legal residency documents and none of whom were involved in online scam offences.
The operation was conducted under the direct orders of His Excellency Um Reatrey, Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, with procedural coordination from a representative of the prosecutor’s office attached to the provincial court. According to a report from the Poipet City Administration, the inspection results include: Poipet commune (1 location), led by Deputy City Governor បោន សិលា, which found 16 foreigners (2 women) of Indonesian nationality, all of whom held proper residency documents and had no online scam offences.
Psar Kandal commune (2 locations) found 6 foreigners (3 women) of Chinese nationality, all of whom also held legal documents and had no involvement in online scam offences.
