Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, has once again drawn the attention of the international tourism world. The renowned travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler recently announced its 2026 Readers' Choice Awards, in which Phnom Penh ranked third on the "World's Best Big Cities" list.
The list shows Seoul, South Korea, in first place, Tokyo, Japan, in second place, and Phnom Penh close behind, surpassing Shanghai, Sydney, Paris, Singapore and other well-known international travel cities.

It is understood that this year's Readers' Choice Awards, now in their 39th edition, received a total of 798,867 reader votes across multiple travel categories including cities, hotels, resorts, airlines and airports.
This ranking signals Phnom Penh's growing international tourism appeal. Beyond traditional attractions such as the Royal Palace and the National Museum, the city's evolving urban life has gradually become a fresh draw for international visitors.
Local cuisine, French and Khmer architecture, nightlife and steadily improving urban facilities offer travelers a more diverse experience, and continue to lift the capital's profile in the international tourism market.
This top-three finish on the "World's Best Big Cities" list not only places Phnom Penh back in the view of international travelers, but also brings fresh attention to Cambodia's overall tourism image.
