Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha made an unplanned visit to the Koh Rong Municipal Police Inspectorate while attending to personal matters nearby. He met with local officers and was accompanied by Lieutenant General Sar Ratha, deputy National Police commissioner-general and Preah Sihanouk provincial police commissioner.
During the visit, Sar Sokha donated equipment to support the officers’ daily duties, including shields, protective vests, batons, handcuffs and traffic-control equipment. He also provided each officer with 400,000 riels in financial support.
The unannounced visit gave Sar Sokha an opportunity to speak directly with local officers about their working conditions and practical needs. It also showed support for their welfare and their work to maintain local security and public order.
