On October 16, the Cambodian government launched the second round of cash subsidy distribution, which is planned to reach about 4.6 million people nationwide, with a focus on helping poor, vulnerable and high-risk households to ease the economic pressure caused by rising living costs.
This subsidy is related to rising fuel and gas prices. Affected by factors such as fluctuations in the international energy market, daily household expenses are under pressure, and the Cambodian government has decided to provide additional support to eligible households through cash assistance.
So, how much can each household receive? According to the standards announced by the government, families in Phnom Penh can receive 60,000 riel per round, urban families outside Phnom Penh can receive 48,000 riel, and rural families can receive 40,000 riel, with an additional 5,000 riel for each household member.
It should be noted that the subsidy is mainly aimed at households holding a valid poor household identification card (IDPoor card) or a qualifying vulnerable family card, and not all residents are eligible to receive it.
Eligible families can go to Wing agent outlets nationwide to collect the subsidy as arranged. If you are unsure whether you qualify, you can consult the local commune or district administrative agency and properly keep the relevant cards and passwords.
It is understood that the subsidy program will be distributed in four rounds throughout the year, on September 25, October 16, November 16 and December 16. The government hopes to ease the living burden of families in difficulty through sustained assistance. The estimated number of beneficiaries does not equal the actual number of recipients, and the specific distribution situation is still subject to official announcement.
