On October 17, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev jointly witnessed the exchange of seven cooperation documents. The documents cover a joint statement, digital government, information and communications technology, trade and economy, tourism, culture and the arts, as well as the establishment of a sister-city relationship between Phnom Penh and Astana.

This cooperation provides a new mechanism for the two countries to expand practical exchanges. Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism and Kazakhstan's Ministry of Tourism and Sports signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation. The two sides will strengthen tourism promotion, product development and industry exchanges to further expand two-way visitor flows.

The establishment of a sister-city relationship between Phnom Penh and Astana is expected to drive interaction between the two cities in urban development, people-to-people exchanges and tourism cooperation. Cooperation in culture and the arts will also enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries and add cultural experiences for visitors traveling between them.

Cooperation on digital government and information and communications technology will promote the exchange of experience and the exploration of joint projects, while the supporting documents in the trade and economic sphere will create conditions for industrial alignment and business partnerships. The coordinated progress in these areas will also support tourism development and people-to-people exchanges.

The joint statement reflects the two sides' willingness to strengthen strategic mutual trust and deepen cooperation across multiple fields. As the relevant documents are progressively implemented, Cambodia and Kazakhstan are expected to further expand tourism and people-to-people exchanges and promote the continued development of bilateral relations.
