Koh Rong Island in Cambodia is attracting renewed investment interest! Polish businesswoman Iwona Kmiecik is expanding into high-end tourism projects on the island through IM Capital Holding Group, including an island resort and serviced apartments, further driving growth in Cambodia's tourism real estate market.

On October 19, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met Iwona and her team in Phnom Penh. During the talks, they discussed investment, development and Cambodia-Poland business cooperation. The company also proposed promoting a business forum between Cambodia and Poland and exploring the establishment of a chamber of commerce between the two countries.

On Koh Rong Island, the group has already invested in projects such as the Apsara Resort and is advancing the “Port Yves Palace” serviced-apartment project. According to information released by the developer, the project plans to include 151 apartments, a restaurant, swimming pool, gym and leisure facilities, and is expected to open in December 2027.

Such projects not only expand visitors' future accommodation options but may also create local jobs in hotel services, food and beverage, cleaning, maintenance and tourism reception. However, the number of jobs actually created and the timing of operations will depend on construction progress and subsequent business performance.

For ordinary travelers, an increase in high-end resort projects means there may be more island accommodation options in the future. For local residents, whether the projects can generate stable employment and business opportunities is also worth watching.

It should be noted that the project plans and expected opening date come from information released by the developer, and investment returns do not equal guaranteed earnings. As tourism development on Koh Rong Island continues, whether the projects can be implemented smoothly and benefit local communities remains to be seen.
