The Cambodian Embassy in Japan recently took part in Global Festa 2026 in Tokyo, showcasing Cambodia’s cultural heritage, tourism resources and distinctive products to Japanese audiences in a bid to attract greater interest from Japanese travellers and consumers.

The event, themed “Connecting the World, My Daily Life, Creating the Future Together,” was jointly organised by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC).

Cambodia’s booth displayed artworks, traditional handicrafts, cultural souvenirs and the cookbook “The Taste of Angkor.” Embassy representatives also introduced visitors to Cambodia’s history, culture, customs and major tourist attractions, helping Japanese audiences learn more about the Southeast Asian country.

Alongside culture and tourism promotion, Cambodia worked with private businesses to highlight local products, especially cashews, hoping to use the international event to expand overseas sales channels and create more opportunities for Cambodian specialty goods to enter Japan.

This year’s Global Festa featured nearly 200 booths bringing together Japanese government bodies, businesses, international organisations, NGOs and foreign embassies in Japan, along with traditional dance, artistic performances and interactive experiences. Cambodian artists also performed traditional dances and joined Japanese artists in presenting contemporary art performances.

Through the event, Cambodia hopes to raise its profile in Japan, promote tourism, cultural exchanges and agricultural trade, and create more opportunities for people-to-people ties and economic cooperation between the two countries.
