On October 21, 2026, Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, met with Rebekah Bell, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative in Cambodia, whose term is coming to an end.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation on food safety, standards and agricultural processing to strengthen domestic production and improve access to international markets.
During the meeting, the minister praised Rebekah Bell and FAO for their contributions to Cambodia’s development. He emphasized the importance of strengthening national quality infrastructure, including standards, metrology, analytical testing and conformity assessment, to support the processing of higher-value agricultural products and promote exports.
