Preah Sihanouk province: On the afternoon of October 25, 2026, Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor Mang Sineth and his wife presided over the closing ceremony of the Koh Rong sports tourism event, held under the theme “Sports for Health, Sports for Tourism.”
At the event, the governor thanked the Koh Rong municipal administration, relevant departments, the competition organizing committee, male and female athletes, and domestic and international visitors for helping make the event a success and promoting Preah Sihanouk province’s tourism potential to the world.
Mang Sineth said sport not only improves health and physical fitness but also strengthens morale, ethics, friendship and fair play, while serving as a driving force for tourism.
The three-day event took place from October 23 to 25 on Koh Rong’s beaches, with sports and recreational activities including obstacle running, beach volleyball, kayaking, three-wheeled vehicle racing and recreational cycling.
The event was also part of Preah Sihanouk province’s 2026 Green Season tourism campaign, aimed at attracting domestic and international visitors, boosting the local economy and promoting sustainable tourism development.
The Preah Sihanouk provincial administration also continues to focus on infrastructure development, security and public order, and environmental and natural resource conservation to make the province an attractive coastal tourism destination.
