As of October 20, 2026, Cambodia had 263 legally operating electric-vehicle charging stations equipped with 475 charging points. According to the Electricity Authority of Cambodia (EAC), Phnom Penh led the country with 98 stations and 193 charging points, while charging networks were also gradually taking shape in Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Battambang and Preah Sihanouk.
The expansion of charging infrastructure has accompanied growth in electric-vehicle numbers. Ministry of Public Works and Transport data showed 17,972 registered electric vehicles nationwide as of September this year, including 6,178 electric motorcycles and three-wheelers. About 7,609 vehicles were newly registered between March and September, indicating substantial market growth.
The number of charging units has also increased: 460 charging units were listed nationwide on September 15, while the EAC reported 475 legal charging points by October 20. The two figures use somewhat different statistical definitions.
Charging infrastructure remains concentrated mainly in Phnom Penh but is gradually extending to the provinces and transport hubs. As electric-vehicle ownership rises, the construction and operation of charging stations and related services are expected to become an important part of Cambodia’s new-energy vehicle industry.
