A fatal attack recently occurred at a construction site in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district. A 39-year-old Chinese employer died and another Chinese man, aged 49, was injured. Four Myanmar workers suspected of involvement have been arrested, and the case remains under investigation.

Thai media reported that, on the evening of October 27, the two Chinese men went to a workers’ camp to pay approximately 60 Myanmar workers. During the visit, the employer, surnamed Yang, argued with four workers—two men and two women forming two married couples—over work quality, resignations and wage payments. According to a preliminary police investigation, the four allegedly attacked the two men with steel reinforcing bars and knives. Yang died despite efforts to save him, while the other man, surnamed He, suffered head and back injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police said the suspects took approximately 40,000–50,000 baht in cash and fled after the attack. On October 28, police and local personnel searched a sugarcane field in Phanat Nikhom district, Chon Buri province, in an operation lasting about five hours. The four suspects were subsequently arrested and handed over to Bangkok police for further investigation.

Details of the incident and the responsibilities of those involved remain subject to the police investigation and judicial proceedings. Accounts of the wage dispute come from preliminary findings and media reports and should not be treated as facts established by a court.
