The Iranian-backed Houthi rebel group has claimed responsibility for six aerial attacks on airports, oil refineries and major military headquarters across Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed that the attacks targeted key commercial and military infrastructure stretching from the eastern and western coasts to Riyadh. The listed targets included the Ras Tanura oil refinery, the Rabigh oil refinery, the Aramco oil company, King Khalid International Airport, King Fahd International Airport, and Saudi military headquarters in the Najran region.
The report says the large-scale drone and missile attacks took place immediately after a rare meeting between senior Saudi and Iranian officials in Tehran, where the two sides had just agreed to resolve disputes through diplomacy. It adds that, despite diplomatic efforts by countries in the region, the successive attacks show that the war of words and fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces continue to intensify.
