In a joint effort to protect public safety and prevent technology-enabled fraud, a team from China’s Ministry of Public Security inspected a building formerly used for online scams in the OP area of Bavet city, Svay Rieng province. The inspection took place on the morning of October 30, 2026, after Cambodian authorities had previously closed and cordoned off the site. The visit reflected the two sides’ shared attention to scams that can harm people’s livelihoods and property.

The inspection was coordinated by ម៉ែន អេង, deputy governor of Svay Rieng and head of the operational working group and secretariat of the Ad Hoc Commission for Combating Online Scams. Procedures were led by a deputy prosecutor of the prosecution office attached to the Svay Rieng Court of First Instance, with relevant authorities also taking part. During the visit, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security’s specialist team examined the actual condition of the building and premises formerly used for technology-enabled fraud.
The inspection took place at the request of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security’s team in Cambodia, through the Ad Hoc Commission for Combating Online Scams. The cooperation demonstrated Cambodia and China’s shared commitment to preventing and curbing cross-border crime, helping protect people’s safety, rights and interests. By: សុភ័ក្រ្ត
