On November 4, 2026, Oknha Dr. Lay Chhun Hour, President of the Cambodia Rice Federation, met at the federation’s headquarters with Ms. Guan Wei, Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs; Mr. Wei Liang, First Secretary; and Ms. Xu Peiqi, Attaché for Economic and Commercial Affairs and Third Secretary, of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cambodia.
According to the Cambodia Rice Federation, the discussion aimed to review Cambodia’s past rice exports to China and assess current supply capacity, while strengthening bilateral cooperation and further improving the development of the rice production chain between the two countries.
China is one of Cambodia’s major rice export markets. According to a recent statement by the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, exports to China accounted for 19.5% of Cambodia’s rice exports as of October 2026. By: Srey Pi
