The Sihanoukville provincial administration recently said there had been no drone flight incident locally on December 22. Some residents had panicked after unidentified points of light appeared in the night sky. The provincial administration said its checks confirmed the lights came from aircraft taking off from Sihanoukville airport, rather than drones.
The administration urged the public to remain calm and not panic.
