A cycling event linked to humanitarian action under the theme “Together for Cambodia in Solidarity Season” was held with ceremony in Siem Reap city on the morning of December 28, 2025, with approximately more than 2,000 cyclists of 20 different nationalities taking part.
Speaking at the event, Tourism Minister Huot Hak said the humanitarian cycling initiative aimed to bring people together in solidarity, strengthen internal unity and take part in humanitarian work to help families displaced by war who were facing difficult circumstances.
The minister added that the organising team had initially expected about 1,000 participants, but registrations had risen to more than 2,000 in just four days. He said this clearly reflected the solidarity and active contributions of national and international communities working together for Cambodia.
He described the sports-tourism event linked to humanitarian action as a remarkable demonstration of people joining forces, showing Cambodia’s determination to help one another in difficult times in line with the principle that “No One Is Left Behind”.
In that spirit of solidarity, the minister expressed confidence that Cambodians and all international friends could successfully overcome difficulties together. He also urged domestic and international tourists to travel with confidence and wished them well, describing Siem Reap as a safe, hospitable destination with abundant tourism potential and a rich cultural heritage.
He added that tourism continued to play a vital role as Cambodia’s “green gold” and a strong “economic pillar”. Cambodia, he said, was always ready to welcome visitors from everywhere and regarded all tourists as members of its own family.
