On December 28, China decided to provide Cambodia with emergency humanitarian aid worth 20 million yuan to help civilians displaced or otherwise affected by the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict. The first batch of Chinese aid supplies arrived in Cambodia that day.

The shipment included daily necessities such as tents, blankets and food, intended to offer timely support, ease immediate hardship and improve basic living conditions for people affected by the conflict.

China expressed the hope that the assistance would help affected Cambodians overcome their difficulties and reflect the longstanding friendship and spirit of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
